This low power micrograph is a "thick prep" of a peripheral blood smear of a patient with mycosis fungoides, and contains two Sézary cells (arrows). Sézary cells are lymphoid cells with prominently folded, also known as, "cerebriform" nuclei. In this figure, these cells are 2-3 times larger than the surrounding lymphocytes. Sézary syndrome is characterized by extensive skin involvement, along with lymphadenopathy, splenomegaly and leukemic picture.
