Bone marrow aspirate of a patient with Acute Monoblastic Leukemia (AML M5). We can see prominent proliferation of monocytic lineage cells (promonocytes, monoblasts, and monocytes) (left). All of which stain strongly positive for nonspecific esterase (right).
