The peripheral blood shows a leukocytosis (WBC>100K) with the percentage of neutrophil precursors (promyelocytes, myelocytes, and metamyelocytes) comprising 17%. There is dysplasia in the peripheral blood with hypolobated and hypogranular neutrophils.
