CD61 (platelet glycoprotein IIIa) immunostain of the bone marrow from a child with Down syndrome who during infancy had transient abnormal myelopoiesis and later developed myeloid (megakaryoblastic) leukemia.  Follow-up is important in such cases because even though the transient abnormal myelopoiesis will usually resolve on its own, myeloid leukemia occurs in 20 to 30% of cases.
