Low-power (hematoxylin and eosin) photomicrograph of the bone marrow from a child with Down syndrome, now with myeloid leukemia.  Note the tremendous megakaryocytic hyperplasia.  Streaming of nuclei is apparent at left, suggesting myelofibrosis, likely due to transforming growth factor beta elaborated by the tumor cells.
