This bone marrow core biopsy from a 57-year-old Caucasian man with a 15-year history of flushing and syncopal episodes due to indolent systemic mastocytosis shows sheets of mast cells (spindle shaped nuclei and abundant pink cytoplasm). Blood counts and skin were normal. (H&E 200×)
