Patient is a 43-year-old male with HIV/AIDS who presented to the ER with fever. Sputum, urine, and blood cultures for an infection were all negative. A bone marrow biopsy were performed to rule out a lymphoproliferative disorder. The marrow was cellular with a left shifted myeloid series. The erythoid series progressed through full maturation sequence and megakaryocytes appeared normal in number and morphology. No lymphoid infiltrate or granulomatous lesion was identified.
