Brisk bone marrow hematogone hyperplasia in a day 30 marrow post allo transplant. Day 30 bone marrows typically demonstrate this brisk regenerative hematogone response during engraftment.

Hematogones are normal B-cell precursors and are often confused with B-lymphoblasts. They exhibit morphology intermediate between B-lymphoblasts and mature lymphocytes. Furthermore, they exhibit a characteristic maturation pattern on flow cytometry which allows them to be easily  distinguished from leukemic B-lymphoblasts.
