Peripheral blood film, Hemoglobin Electrophoresis and Complete blood count (CBC) Iranian female 31 years old with Hb D. A large peak is apparent in the D-window accounting for about 35% of the all hemoglobin consistent with a Hb D. Several variants known including Hb D-Los Angeles and Hb-D-Punjab. In these two  variants, there is a substitution of Gln with a Gla at the 121st position in the beta chain.
