Hemoglobin C crystals exist in the peripheral blood smear of a patient diagnosed with Hemoglobin C disease. These crystals are dense rectangular structures composed of precipitated hemoglobin C. Additionally target cells are present which are often found in hemoglobinopathies. Sickle cells are also can be detected.
