This image illustrates abnormal mitotic figures in a patient with Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS), highlighting dysplastic features in the myeloid lineage. The cells demonstrate atypical chromatin condensation and multipolar mitotic spindles, characteristic of ineffective hematopoiesis. These morphologic findings support the diagnosis of MDS and emphasize the role of morphology in disease assessment. Wright-Giemsa stain, original magnification ×1000.
