The bone marrow smear of a patient with relapsed IgM myeloma with t(14;16) shows haemophagocytosis, red cell rouleaux (upper panels, May-Grünwald-Giemsa stain x100 objective), and atypical plasma cells, background staining (lower panels, May-Grünwald-Giemsa stain x40 objective). Hb 86g/L, WBC 1.1x10^9/L, platelet 48x10^9/L and IgM paraprotein 19g/L.
