Bone marrow aspirate smear (May-Grünwald-Giemsa stain, ×100 oil immersion) showing metastatic neuroblastoma. A well-formed Homer-Wright rosette is prominently displayed, characterised by a central core of pink fibrillary neuropil surrounded by a ring of small round neuroblasts with hyperchromatic nuclei, nuclear molding, scant cytoplasm, and high nuclear-cytoplasmic ratio. This rosette formation is a hallmark feature of neuroblastoma involving the bone marrow and aids in differentiation from other small round cell tumours. The background shows scattered normal hematopoietic elements.
