An 84-year-old man presented with an ulcerative lesion involving the upper anterior maxilla.

The findings seen in the biopsy and immunostains are supportive of the newly described EBV+ mucocutaneous ulcer (WHO 2017). These are self-limited lesions presenting in the setting of varied sources of immunosuppression in the elderly and after immunosuppressive therapy.

The presence of Hodgkin-like cells often create confusion with Classical Hodgkin lymphoma and the EBV positivity often poses confusion with EBV+ DLBCL, nos which is another entity proposed in the WHO 2017 classification.
