Alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma forearm mass

High-power photomicrograph of primary site (forearm mass) of alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma from a child which had metastasized to her bone marrow.  Note the large size of the tumor cells, which have irregular nuclei containing blastic chromatin.  A couple of entrapped skeletal muscle fibers course diagonally through the field (hematoxylin and eosin).
