An adult male with no complaints came for urine examination for medical fitness, however show hyperlipidemia, his total cholesterol was found to be high (241mg/dL). On gross examination, we received 25 ml of whitish slightly turbid urine and ph noted was 6.8. On chemical examination, slightly high albumin was detected .i.e. 80mg/dL . Glucose level was 2 Mmol/L, and no ketones bodies and bile salts were detected. On wet preparation, urine sediments show fair number of delaminated rhomboid shaped plate like crystals in a background of debris and bacteria. On the basis of morphology, crystals were labelled as cholesterol crystals and advised for lipid profile, kidney function test and close follow up. The kidney function test found to be in normal limits, and lipid profile show raised total cholesterol and VLDL levels.
