Giant multinucleate cell with peripheral and central distribution of nuclei with single prominent nucleolus and intracytoplasmic inclusions. This is surrounded by a cuff of small mature lymphocytes and a reactive background of eosinophils and plasma cells. Giant multinucleate cells can be seen in the bowel wall in patients with Crohn's disease but have not previously been described in the bone marrow.
