A higher magnification of the previous image is shown. Note the marked RBC acanthocytosis with elliptocytoid forms now also more evident. The lymphocytes have a deeply basophilic cytoplasm and vacuolization is also noted. The nuclei contours are variable with two of the cells in this view showing nuclear cleaving. There are no cytoplasmic projections. Flow cytometry results showed the cells to be CD19, CD20, HLA-Dr, CD22, and CD11c positive but negative for CD103. These cells were also negative on TRAP histochemical staining.
