CD45 is a transmembrane protein tyrosine phosphatase located on most hematopoietic cells. The CD45 antigen is normally universally expressed in variable intensities on all leukocytes. Classical Hodgkin lymphoma is almost always negative for CD45, but in this case, there is diffuse positivity in the neoplastic cells supporting gray zone designation.
